What does one need to truly change? How hard is it really?
You find yourself asking this question over and over again. You know something is preventing real change, but you can’t quite figure out what it is and how to get it out of your way. You are here, and in many ways are open for its reveal.
I have good experience and solid training. I will use it to help you get there. You hold the secret, but sometimes it is not so clear. I will help you unearth it. It’s what I love to do.
Your joy is waiting.
My Background and Education
I am licensed as a Marriage and Family Therapist in the State of California (LMFT #47538). I have both a Masters and a Doctorate in Clinical Psychology from The American School of Professional Psychology, an APA accredited program. In my doctoral program, I also completed a specialty track in Child and Adolescent Psychology. This specialty track included advanced training in play therapy for children, therapy for adolescents, and young adults. Some of my pre- and post-doctoral training included working with out-patient populations in a drug and alcohol abuse treatment center, a domestic violence shelter, as well as community mental health agencies that help individuals struggling with severe and chronic mental health disorders, including schizophrenia, severe Bipolar Disorder and other psychoses. I have 15 years experience working with a variety of individuals, including children, teens, couples and families struggling with anxiety, depression, relationship difficulties, divorce, and parenting issues. I also conduct psychological evaluations and assessment, including evaluations for learning disorders, ADHD, IQ, and pre-surgical evaluations.
I am also the Founder and Director of Insight Psychotherapy Group, a 501(c)3 not-for-profit psychotherapy group providing affordable and comprehensive mental health treatment to those in need.
I work within APA (American Psychological Association) and BBS (California Board of Behavioral Sciences) guidelines for the profession, maintain HIPAA compliance, and undertake regular professional development, as well as maintain professional indemnity insurance. All information disclosed is treated as confidential, whether in person, on the phone, or by email.
